Re-take opportunity for quizzes 2 (regular present tense verbs) and 3 (ir and ser)

Must be completed by Wed., Oct. 28 (it’s the end of the quarter).

1.  Review materials, most of which you already have:

--the tarea packet (A-E),

--the golden verb sheet in your cuaderno,

--the practice quizzes — for quiz 2,  regular verbs, and quiz 3, ir and ser

--and especially www.Schoology.com items 4 & 5 (regular verbs)  and 6 & 7 (ser and ir).

--When you sign in to Schoology, click on Updates and you will see a Schoology update with links to Quizlet practice for some of these.  You can go to www.Quizlet.com yourself and just search for my username, troguski, and find my Quizlet Spanish lists.  Or you could search all of Quizlet for “Spanish subject pronouns” “Spanish –ar, -er, -ir verbs” or “Spanish present tense regular verbs”, “Spanish IR” , “Spanish SER”, for example.  If the person who made the list is not identified as a teacher, be careful. Student-made lists sometimes have mistakes.

--You could make actual physical flash cards (as opposed to the computer ones)

2.  Extra help.  I am available for help after school almost every day.  Just ask; sometimes a meeting comes up.

3.  Practice in computer lab.  We will be in the computer lab Thursday, Oct. 22 (Yes, I know there’s an AVID field trip.  That will be an excused absence.)  At least one of the Schoology activities will be focused on additional practice for the retake.  You need to do this activity to be eligible for the retake.

Unexcused absence Thursday?  No retake.

Off-task in the computer lab so you don’t get the work done there?  No retake.

Excused absence?  You can get to Schoology anywhere you have Internet access and do the work in the next few days, but a computer works better for the exercises than a phone.  There is a nice Quizlet app for smartphones.

Excused absence and no internet at home?  I will give you an alternative review on paper, but it will not be interactive like the computer review. The Media Center has computers and it’s open most days till 4:00.

4.  You may do the retake after school Monday Oct. 26 or Tuesday, Oct. 27, or in class Wednesday, Oct. 28 (after the quiz on estar, querer, and tener).  Before school those days may be possible; if that’s the only time you can do it, talk to me at the end of class.
